We designed this course for beginners who are eager for quick improvement. We’ll give you an introduction to movement and technique, basic knot tying, and the safety systems of belaying. Our guides will set up easier outdoor routes at different crags for you to practice your new skills on a variety of routes!
Rock climbing is a physically demanding sport, especially for new climbers, so this course is split between instruction and active rock climbing. Great for beginners or first-time climbers!
The curriculum for this course can be tailored to your experience and learning goals. Under the supervision of certified guides, you can learn lead climbing and belaying; fear management and how to take better lead falls; anchor setting and cleaning; multi-pitch efficiencies and techniques; advanced rope rescue, and more. At the end of the course, you’ll be better equipped for your future climbing adventures!
For advanced climbers, we recommend our five-day self-rescue course. This course will help you respond to a variety of emergencies using gear you likely already carry to the crag. We’ll cover advanced knots, anchor basics and essential rope skills; belay escapes and rope ascension; rappel rescue; hauling systems; and rescuing an injured lead climber. While we hope you never have to use these skills, the knowledge you gain will most certainly make you a safe climber and a better climbing partner.
